The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in conjunction with the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC)yesterday match to the government office to protest an increment of their salary from N18,000 to N56,000 as the new minimum wage.The The NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, at a news conference in Abuja today April 27th, said the new minimum wage was proposed to the Federal government yesterday April 26th, 2016. he added that a former proposal have been sent to the Federal Government for approval.
Noted that though the current nation’s economy is not doing well, but according to the law which say that workers salary should be reviewed every five years. he also stated that the issue at hand must be addressed by the federal government and that workers must not be treated as workers who are sleeping on their right and every worker have its freedom of speech and expression.
